You, and your child(ren) will find that you will appreciate and express yourselves through music, whether it be dancing to music, singing in the shower, drawing, painting, taking up an instrument, creating sounds on the piano or tapping rhythms on just about anything. Most student goals are not to be the next music star but to just use music to express themselves in whatever fashion they choose. While music takes concentration and focus, it's an excellent preparatory step for any subject a younger child takes up in school. There is plenty of literature to show that students of music make good students in math and lots of subjects.
